Day 3 in Lawrenceville

Yesterday was another successful day in Lawrenceville. It was more low key than the previous two days, but successful nonetheless. Many of the regulars returned to see my progress and seemed pleased with the pine cone's development. I spent much of the day with my back to the sidewalk cutting out cardboard, which was certainly not as inviting to passersby as working out on the bench (which is getting destroyed tomorrow!).

I began the day cutting out parts of the seed wings.

Then I attached the first layer that's separate from the top part (My apologies for the technical terms).

One of my biggest fans, Gracie, and her mother stopped by to check on the pine cone's progress.

After covering the newly added layer with paper mache, I spent the rest of the day cutting out more seed wings (It was very exciting for everyone involved).

Kellen flexed his muscles to show us the cool looking part of the pine cone (I feel like it needs a name).

I cheated and brought some work home with me last night. So now I have a big pile of seed wings that are ready to be mached and attached first thing today. I know I say this every day, but I really think it will look like a pine cone by the time I pack it up tonight!
